Group G action continues with Italy taking on Argentina in their first match of the Women’s World Cup. The Italians will be keen to better their quarterfinal finish at the 2019 competition, whilst Argentina will have their bar for success set marginally lower, as they search for their first ever win at a Women’s World Cup finals.
When the Women’s World Cup draw was released, Group G was expected to be a matter of who could come second between the two nations facing off this evening. But, following a nail-biter of a match between Sweden and South Africa last night, Group G’s story may not be so straightforward.

Both Italy and Argentina will be desperate to kickstart their group stage with a win, and breathe confidence into their camps before facing the strength of Sweden and the spirit of South Africa in the next round of fixtures.
