The Brisbane WTA is full of stars: is it more interesting than the men’s event?

The main draw of the Brisbane International will see Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina as the number 1 and 2 seeds respectively. Lin Zhu, Daria Kasatkina, Jelena Ostapenko and Victoria Azarenka will try to undermine the former WTA No.1 on the road to the final.

Naomi Osaka will return to the field in Brisbane after almost a year and a half. The four-time Slam champion will also be in the upper part of the main draw and will challenge Tamara Korpatsch on her debut with the hope of giving herself a match with Karolina Pliskova.

Other stars will also include Sofia Kenin, Sloane Stephens, Victoria Azarenka, Danielle Collins, Vetonika Kudermetova, Liudmilla Samsonova and Daria Kasatkina.

The WTA in Brisbane is full of stars

The combined event instead presents great expectations in the men’s singles, with Rafael Nadal’s as back.

Yet, analyzing the two draws, we can see how the women’s event presents a much more interesting draw than the men’s one. Rafael Nadal’s co-back is certainly the main attraction of the tournament, but the quality of the women’s tournament seems to have a higher quality than the men’s event.
