CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nothing says “college basketball is back” like an early-season matchup between two of the nation’s top-10 teams.
Thursday’s game between Caitlin Clark and the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes and the No. 8 Virginia Tech Hokies lived up to that top-10 billing.
With over 15,000 fans and a number of WNBA scouts in attendance, Clark stole the show, falling two points shy of a career-high with 44 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead Iowa to an impressive statement win.
For Virginia Tech, Georgia Amoore led the way with 31 points while All-American Elizabeth Kitley turned in a 16-point, 16-rebound double-double.
