Backstory
Joens’ 21 points per game entering the postseason led the Big 12 and ranked 13th nationally. She scored in double figures in 27 of the Cyclones’ 28 regular-season games, scoring at least 20 on 16 occasions while posting 13 double-doubles. She finished Saturday’s win with a team-high 22 points and eight rebounds.
The 2022-23 Big 12 Player of the Year joins the likes of Kelsey Plum, Brittney Griner, Elena Delle Donne, Maya Moore and Hall of Famer Jackie Stiles as one of 14 women’s players to eclipse 3,000 career points. Plum holds the all-time record at 3,527 points.
