Get your popcorn ready, folks. The Caitlin Clark show is here.
Iowa’s star guard is back for her senior season after completing one of the most impressive individual runs in college basketball history. Clark led the nation in assists per game (8.6) and finished second in points per game (27.8) last season while shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 38.9 percent on 3-pointers. She accounted for more than half of the Hawkeyes’ offensive output and guided her team all the way to the national championship game.
Now, Clark and her teammates are looking to finish the job and capture the title. All eyes will be focused on the 21-year-old as she continues to post huge numbers, but she certainly isn’t afraid of the attention.
“I kind of get to be in the spotlight and I get to change people’s viewpoint of how they see women’s basketball,” Clark told The Associated Press’ Eric Olson. “The amount of people that have come up to me and said, ‘I’ve never watched women’s basketball before before you and your team.’ Some people could take that as a negative. But to me that’s a positive.
“We’re finally getting them to turn on the TV and watch it, but not only watch it once. They’re coming back for more.”
If you’ve cut the cord but don’t want to miss any Iowa action, here are…
