That may seem like a peculiar nickname for someone who is fully ingrained in U.S. politics — but it’s one that makes sense given Walz’s background.
The Minnesota governor has been tabbed as Kamala Harris’ running mate for the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election. The current vice president took just 16 days between launching her campaign and choosing Walz to be in her corner for the Democratic campaign.

Walz first began his career as a high school teacher and coach in his native state of Nebraska, where he served as a girls’ basketball coach and the linebacker coach for the football team at Alliance High School.
After he pleaded guilty to a reckless driving charge in 1995, he resigned from his extracurricular responsibilities.
