Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark deemed a bigger star than last two NBA MVPs

Caitlin Clark returned to the court this weekend, less than 24 hours after the Pacers lost control of the NBA Finals, and reminded the world she’s a basketball rock star.

Clark snapped the defending champion New York Liberty’s undefeated start to the campaign and put the WNBA on notice that when she laces her shoes, the Indiana Fever are a bona fide title contender.

The Iowa product back in the fold is integral not just to the Fever chasing a ring but to the league as a whole, which has struggled to create headlines in her absence.

Clark’s stellar performance has garnered plenty of strong reactions, including one popular FOX Sports talking head making a bold declaration.

On a recent episode of his show “The Herd,” Colin Cowherd suggested Clark gave the W a new signature moment.

“Right now, she’s the biggest basketball star in the world, not named LeBron or Steph,” Cowherd said. “She’s bigger than Jokic. She’s bigger than SGA. She’s bigger than Halliburton. She’s totally unique and transcendent. That’s the greatest stretch we watched this weekend in WNBA history. The league is 25, 26, or 27 years old—that’s the greatest moment.”

It’s not hyperbolic to suggest the best Clark moment is the next one.
