Indiana Fever, WNBA stars react to Caitlin Clark turning pro

Caitlin Clark declared for the 2024 WNBA draft on Thursday, bringing about a flurry of reactions across the basketball landscape and beyond.

Some of the best reactions, however, came from the Indiana Fever and its players. Clark is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, which Indiana currently holds.

Soon after the announcement, the Fever tweeted out “No. 1” before later posting a link to buy season tickets. They then reiterated the fact that they have the No. 1 pick with a graphic, reminding fans that there are just 46 days to the draft.

Longtime Fever star and former coach Tamika Catchings, who helped the team to the WNBA championship in 2012, welcomed Clark to Indianapolis – as if there was any doubt as to who the Fever would be picking.

Current Fever player Erica Wheeler went on a tear, noting that Clark’s decision has people “I ain’t talk to in years asking for tickets for next season.”
