Naomi Osaka isn’t only targeting to win more Grand Slams but she specifically wants to win the French Open and Wimbledon so she can achieve a remarkable Career Grand Slam.
Very early in her career, the Japanese became a multiple Slam winner after winning twice the US Open (2018 and 2020) and twice the Australian Open (2019 and 2021).
But since landing her fourth Major in 2021 January, the former world No. 1 hasn’t won any titles.
Also, Osaka hasn’t made the second week of a Grand Slam since.
At this past Australian Open, the Japanese started with very notable wins over Caroline Garcia and Karolina Muchova but then an unfortunate abdominal injury forced her to retire against Belinda Bencic in the third round.
Osaka: I really want to win Wimbledon and Roland Garros.
“I have a lot of goals going forward. For as long as I can play, I really want to win Wimbledon and Roland Garros (the French Open) and get a Career Grand Slam, the 27-year-old told CNN Sport.
“It’s interesting when I hear from an outside perspective because, of course, all of the achievements (I’ve had so far) are great, but I always feel like there’s a lot more to do.”
In her seven French Open appearances, Osaka only three times made the third round.
