Iga Świątek has been defeated by Czech young gun Linda Nosková in the third round of the Australian Open.
The world No. 1 was one of the main contenders to take out the 2024 women’s singles title, but was stunned by her 19-year-old opponent at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday night.
After taking the first set, Świątek was on-track for a routine win.
Nosková, however, had other ideas.

It was seemingly business as usual for Świątek in the early stages of the match, professionally navigating to a 6-3 opening set win.
Nosková did have two break point opportunities, but Świątek converted in the sixth game of the match and held her serve from there.
