Iga Swiatek reveals what she wants to achieve at the Australian Open

Having started the season on a positive note, with two convincing victories in the United Cup, Iga Swiatek talked about her goals for the start of the season, starting with the Australian Open.

After an overwhelming start to 2024, Iga’s dominance at the top of women’s tennis seemed unchallenged by any of her opponents. But in the end, this wasn’t the case: Aryna Sabalenka’s impressive technical and mental growth allowed the Belarusian to change the situation. The 3-time Slam champion has in fact ousted the Polish player from 1st place in the WTA ranking.

After beating Karolina Muchova in Sydney at the mixed tournament for national teams, the United Cup, the Polish player analyzed not only the match but also her ambitions for Melbourne.

“I am very satisfied with my game, I felt again how my intensity prevailed until the end and I was able to overcome difficult moments by maintaining a very high level of tennis for a long time. This is what all tennis players seek, so it is nice to feel like this already in the first week of competition,” she said.
