In the Chetumal group of the WTA Finals 2023 being held in Cancun, Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek beat US Open champion Coco Gauff and she will still have the chance to end the year in first place in the WTA ranking. Swiatek won with a score of 6-0 7-5 in an hour and a half of match.
In the first set she won 12 of the 16 return points and in the second set she found herself down a break at 5-4 before winning 12 of the last 14 points of the set to win the match.

At the end of the match, Iga gave the usual interview dealing with various topics on the agenda.
“I would say that this evening I played with a lot of confidence, I think I was able to respond to Coco’s game at all times, especially doing it at the right time of the match.
