Jimmy Connors thinks Iga Swiatek has become so dominant that the Pole is “winning matches now before she even walks out on the court.” After shockingly retired from tennis Ashleigh Barty in 2022 March, it didn’t take long for Swiatek to establish herself as the best player in the game.
Last year, Swiatek set a new record for the most consecutive wins on the WTA Tour – the Pole had 37 consecutive wins between February and July. So far this year, Swiatek has had several deep runs and has won two titles – but there have been some surprising defeats as the Pole is 25-5 in 2023.

She’s got that swagger, she’s got that reputation now. That’s what you work for. So those who go out and beat her, they produce. She makes everybody she plays raised their level of game. That’s the greatest compliment I think you can get in the game, is that to go out there and know that everybody’s gunning for you.
