World No 1 Iga Swiatek is seemingly very thrilled about the start of the clay season. This Monday, the clay season officially kicked off on the WTA Tour. Swiatek set to start her clay season in Stuttgart
On March 22nd, Swiatek announced her withdrawal from the Miami Open and Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers due to a rib injury.
Over this past weekend, Swiatek resumed training and it appears that she is definitely aiming to start her clay season at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, which starts on April 17th. Swiatek will be the defending champion at this year’s Stuttgart tournament edition.
“I loved the atmosphere in Stuttgart last year and am looking forward to this one. I especially appreciate tournaments so close to Poland because my fans can support me on-site and it makes the atmosphere even better; so, I’m happy confirm I’m going to play there in 2023,” Swiatek said in a statement.
