Iga Swiatek, 22, admits she has thought about how long her pro tennis career will last but highlights that it is “hard to predict” and that she prefers to stay in the moment and see how she feels in the next 10 years. Swiatek, who lifted her first Grand Slam title at 19, has accomplished major success early in her career.
At just 22, Swiatek is already a four-time Grand Slam champion and she has already spent over 80 weeks at the world No 1 spot. When Ashleigh Barty shockingly retired from pro tennis at 25 in 2022 March, Swiatek replaced the Australian at the top spot.
Since then, Swiatek has established herself as the best player in women’s tennis. Since Barty’s retirement, Swiatek has been asked several times if she could also do something like Barty and retire at a very young age.
