Iga Swiatek made an interesting point when asked if she would recommend tennis to youngsters as the five-time Grand Slam champion explained that she would probably be able to clearly answer that question when she becomes a mother.
The Pole, who turned 23 in May, has accomplished massive success over the last two and a half years but it is not a secret that she is not a fan of how some things are being handled on the WTA Tour. Specifically, the world No. 1 believes that the schedule and calendar are too long and demanding and she has made that clear numerous times over the last few years.
But while the 23-year-old doesn’t find everything perfect, she has still managed to make an astonishing start to her career and some believe she has the potential to go well over 10 Majors and go down as one of the all-time greats.
And after the 2022 US Open champion destroyed Ena Shibahara 6-0 6-1, a reporter brought up to the Pole that some find tennis a very difficult sport and asked if she would encourage young kids to give it a shot.
“I don’t know. I think I’m going to start thinking about it when I’m going to have my own kids, you know. It’s hard for me to judge because I’m the one that actually made it,” Swiatek explained.
