Iga Swiatek described her Beijing match against Caroline Garcia as “really intense” and credited her “intuition” as one of the biggest reasons why she was able to complete a big comeback against the Frenchwomen. Swiatek recovered from a set down to beat Garcia
In the first set, not a single break point was seen and a tie-break had to decide the winner of the opener. Garcia had two consecutive set points at 6-4 in the tie-break but Swiatek responded by winning the next three points to take a 7-6 lead and earn her first set point.
