World No. 1 Iga Swiatek announced her arrival to Paris in quite a way as the Pole took to Instagram to ask if someone is willing to play doubles with her at the French Open.
On Saturday, Swiatek won her second title of this clay season after beating Aryna Sabalenka to complete back-to-back wins in Madrid and Rome.
After going 14-1 in her three tournaments leading up to the French Open, Swiatek is now hoping to complete a three-peat at Roland Garros and win her overall fourth French Open title.
But Swiatek may have some other plans than just defending her singles title at Roland Garros.
“Hello Paris! Looking for a friendly partner to play doubles with. Who’s in town?” Swiatek captioned her Instagram Story.
Is Swiatek serious about playing doubles at the French Open?
Over the last few years, Swiatek has been heavily focused on singles as she hasn’t appeared in a women’s doubles match since 2021 October. When it comes to mixed doubles, the situation is a bit different there as Swiatek has had appearances with Hubert Hurkacz when representing Poland at the United Cup.
Since Swiatek has already played 15 matches this clay season, she is likely joking about playing doubles as well but it will be interesting to see if…
