Iga Swiatek has shared a special message for this year’s World Mental Health Day as the Pole is happy about her own progress and also pledged to keep supporting mental health causes. Swiatek, 22, is a four-time Grand Slam champion and for quite some time has been very vocal about the importance of good mental health.
In 2019, Swiatek – when the Pole was still a teenager and just starting her career – she added sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz to her team. Since then, Swiatek has made drastic improvements in her own mental health and Abramowicz is helping her tackle everyday issues and problems in a healthy way.
After donating a notable sum of money to a Polish mental health charity in 2021 and 2022, Swiatek is doing the same in 2023. This year, Swiatek is donating 300k Polish Zloty to UNICEF Poland – when converted to US dollars, it’s a sum of 70.294.
That money will be redistributed to provide access to mental health professionals to those in need.
