“I love the button Block!”

Being popular in sport attracts a lot of positivity but also a lot of negativity. Venomous comments are increasingly frequent and, among social media users, gamblers are the ones who most often attack athletes. And tennis players, obviously, are not excluded. On the contrary; they are too often the recipient of comments and insults from those who bet, making situations grotesque and exasperated.

Coco Gauff talked about this at Wimbledon media day. The young American said how angry gamblers are annoying on social media, but she – to stop them – loves the button: block.

“Maybe the angry giamblers on social media are a little annoying, but I love the button: block. They say I use it a lot on X, but I just say: Bye!” she told.

The American then talked about the bond she has with her fans, explaining: “There are many things I love, but definitely the best thing about being a tennis player is the bond with people.
