Ons Jabeur: “I hope to see more African players on the Tour”

Ons Jabeur is preparing to make her Roland Garros first round. The Tunisian tennis player will face Lucia Bronzetti in the first round who seems to have found herself with the final conquered at the 250 in Rabat. On Media Day, Jabeur talked about her preparation and her Country.

She said: “I’m definitely 100%. I have trained with many players and I move normally. But one always has in mind what if something happens?, but I try not to focus on that. I’m finding my rhythm. I feel the way I move around the court is so much better.” On her support for African tennis: “I know how difficult it is to come from certain countries where you don’t have the resources to do it.

Actually, my favorite tournament before was the African Championship. I know we have a lot of talent and a lot of fighters. I have seen many amazing young African players. I know it is a different and difficult path. I’m personally trying to change that by creating more opportunities.

Maybe one day when I have my own academy, I want to invite all talented African players to train, give them a chance and share my experience. One of my dreams is also to see many more African players on the Tour.”
