Coco Gauff managed to overcome the obstacle that has always stood in her way at the Australian Open: the 4th round. The young American star qualified for the first time in her career to the quarter-finals of the Melbourne Major, beating the Polish Magdalena Frech with the final score of 6-1 6-2.
Coco literally outclassed her opponent, dominating the rallies and imposing her pace on the Pole, who was unable to put the US Open winner in difficulty either with the serve or in the rallies. The next opponent for the young Coco will be the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, in the quarterfinals.
