Elena Rybakina noted it’s good to be a top-10 player but admitted she probably won’t feel any different when she wakes up on Monday. Rybakina, 23, entered the Australian Open ranked at No 25 in the world. Following her runner-up finish at the Australian Open, Rybakina is set to rose to a career-high ranking of No 10 in the world.
Had Wimbledon points counted, Rybakina would have entered the top-10 last July after winning Wimbledon. “I don’t think tomorrow I’m going to feel different just because of the ranking now. But for sure it’s going to be different on the smaller tournaments.
I’m going to be seeded. But I don’t really look for the numbers ranking so much,” Rybakina said, per Musab Abid.
