Just three months after the biggest WNBA Finals in league history, a new era of women’s basketball begins. Unrivaled is about to take the court for its inaugural season.
Founded by pro stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, Unrivaled is a 3-on-3 league comprised of 36 players spread across six teams. One of the biggest goals of the new league is to keep basketball players in the U.S. during the WNBA offseason. Previously, players would need to move overseas to play in order to find sufficient competition and income.
But no more.
Unrivaled wants to be bigger and better, not just for players but for the sport of basketball.
“It was built by basketball people for basketball players,” said league president Luke Cooper. “That’s our north star. … We have an incredible pool of 36 players that will make each other better, so we’re unique in that sense in the marketplace.”
With stars like Angel Reese, Aliyah Boston, Brittney Griner, Sabrina Ionescu and many more, Unrivaled is ready to make history this winter, all from a custom facility in Miami.
