This weekend, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will face off for the first time since the NCAA Tournament as the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky play in the first game of the 2024 Commissioner’s Cup.

Over the next two weeks, each team will play five games against in-conference rivals, counting toward both tournament and season records. The team from each conference with the best tournament record will compete for a $500,000 prize pool in the championship game, which is scheduled to be played on June 25 at the arena of the team with the higher winning percentage.

Clark leads the Fever with 17.6 points and 6.6 assists per game, but the team has gotten off to a less-than-impressive 1-8 start. In Indiana’s last game, a 103-88 loss to the Seattle Storm, Clark scored 20 points and tallied nine assists while Aliyah Boston chipped in with a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Reese is nearly averaging a double-double (11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds) through her first six games. In Chicago’s last matchup against the Sparks, an 83-73 win, she scored six points and grabbed six rebounds while Marina Mabrey scored 20 points and notched seven assists.
