Alyssa Thomas is picking up right were she left off last season, breaking her own WNBA record for triple-doubles.
Her 13-point, 15-rebound and 12-assist performance Tuesday propelled the Connecticut Sun to an 85-79 victory over the Seattle Storm.
The WNBA is coming off the year of the triple-double, with nine recorded during the 2022 season, and Thomas has had the most recent four. That includes the first two in WNBA Finals history.
Those postseason triple-doubles made her the first player with four in her career. After her latest, she’s the first player with five.
She also is the first player with more than two triple-doubles in a single season. Her first four triple-doubles all came after July 21 in the 2022 season. With her fifth, she joins Candace Parker and Sabrina Ionescu as the only players with three regular season triple-doubles.
