Caitlin Clark’s regular season debut came against the Sun. It’s only right they would face off again for Clark’s maiden bow in the playoffs.

After a wobbly first month of the year — Clark’s Fever went 1-8 to start 2024, worse than the 3-6 start in 2023 which helped net them the Iowa alum — Indiana is gelling, vanquishing 18 of its last 27 foes to notch its first postseason appearance since 2016.

Clark is among the biggest reasons why. She’s formed a frightful trident with backcourt ace Kelsey Mitchell and star big Aliyah Boston. Mitchell is the fire to Clark’s ice, having averaged the second-most points since the Olympic break in the WNBA (23.1). Clark ranks third.

Boston, too, has seen her role morph as Clark grows more comfortable orchestrating Christie Sides’ offensive desires. The 2023 No. 1 pick is known as an elite paint scorer. However, she’s impressed in the short roll as of late, proving an effective battery mate for the whirling dervish that is Clark.
