The Los Angeles Sparks had high hopes for No. 2 overall pick Cameron Brink during her rookie year.

All was going to plan through the first month of the season. While the team was just 4-11 through 15 games, the 6-4, 170-pound forward was establishing herself as a franchise cornerstone.

That all came to a halt Tuesday, when Brink sustained a knee injury against the Connecticut Sun that likely will sideline for the remainder of the WNBA season — and for the 2024 Olympics.

What is Cameron Brink’s injury?

Brink suffered a torn ACL in the Sparks’ Tuesday loss to the Sun, the team announced Wednesday.

The injury occurred when Brink lost her footing while attempting a left-handed layup. She went crashing to the ground, landing awkwardly and standing up in obvious pain, and she needed assistance to exit the court.
