The 2024 women’s NCAA Tournament field has been set, and plenty of exciting matchups are spread across the bracket.

Top-seed South Carolina looks to cap off its undefeated regular season and SEC tournament title with a national championship, but fellow No. 1 seeds Iowa, Stanford and Texas highlight a list of other contenders aiming to claim the sport’s most prestigious trophy. Before the First Four tips off Tuesday night,The Athletic’s women’s basketball experts, who will cover tournament, are here to to make our predictions.

I have the Huskies in the Elite Eight, but in order to get there, a lot of 50/50 balls are going to need to fall in their favor. UConn is working with a short rotation, and that’s not usually the recipe for a deep run. The Huskies having the fifth-best odds of all teams is … interesting.

Grace Raynor: Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish have another season-ending injury to a starter (Kylee Watson, ACL) just before March Madness. The Fighting Irish had an incredible run through the ACC tournament, but they’ve had terrible injury luck this year.
