Emma Hayes Introducing A New Strategy
Recently, Emma Hayes has been vocal about wanting to introduce a new strategy that will hopefully change the USWNT. Hayes has introduced to the USWNT’s entire staff what she calls “The WNT Way.”
To Hayes, this way is “a female blueprint to win and set the bar for the global game.” Indeed, women’s soccer needs to be looked at differently. Its improvement might only come when we stop comparing it to men’s soccer. Or, as Hayes described it, she wants to look at the game through “a female lens.”
In a meeting with reporters, Hayes said, “We always do this constant comparing to the men’s game. I don’t really care what they’re doing. What works for us? And it’s about creating that more than anything else.”
