Usually when a team has a coaching change in the National Women’s Soccer League, there is a bit of a bounce-back. In the games immediately after the change, the players and fans feed off the fresh energy to grab some points before cooling back off. But Angel City FC has been hot for almost three months under interim head coach Becki Tweed. On June 15, Angel City formally announced the firing of head coach Freya Coombe, who was in the midst of her second season with the squad.
