Hot start helps USWNT dominate Olympic opener — and provides playbook for Germany – Equalizer Soccer

The U.S. women’s national team dominated its Olympic opener, defeating Zambia 3-0 in Nice, France, in a vintage display of control and offensive pressure. It was a much needed moment to instill confidence in the team as they head into their next group stage game against Germany. The frontline firepower on display early in Thursday’s match stood in stark contrast to last week’s scoreless draw against Costa Rica that sent the team off to the Summer Games, and should inspire optimism as the tournament gets underway.
