That’s a wrap on Menswear Milan Fashion Week and since Friday, we have been wrapped in magnificent Milanese finery from all the major players on the MFW schedule. The fashion pack first digested Sabato De Sarno’s debut as Gucci’s creative director, who mirrored the Ancora notion of his womenswear showcase last September. Dean and Dan Caten’s Dsquared2 show was cast entirely of identical twins, to give attendees the illusion models emerged from a transforming capsule wearing a completely different outfit as they roamed a gleaming white set. All-black was high on the agenda at Dolce & Gabbana, as Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana made their return to full form to give us their interpretation of the word “sleek”, resulting in an array of sharply-tailored looks. Silvia Venturini Fendi paid tribute to Princess Anne, with a very British approach to dressing for the Fall 2024 season. It was business as usual at Prada, with guests sat on office chairs to check out the latest designs from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simmons, who merged stereotypical office attire with the great outdoors. Models were practically without pants at JW Anderson, who sought inspo from Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut while pajama-soft looks ruled the runway at Giorgio Armani.
