Here is Aryna Sabalenka’s projected path to US Open title

Aryna Sabalenka has learned her projected route to landing her second Grand Slam title at this year’s US Open. Sabalenka, seeded at No 1, meets Maryna Zanevska in her opener at Flushing Meadows. After Zanevska, Sabalenka’s next opponent will likely be world No 39 Anna Blinkova.

In the US Open third round, Sabalenka could meet former world No 1 Karolina Pliskova. In the US Open round-of-16, Sabalenka is projected to meet No 13 seed Daria Kasatkina. The US Open quarterfinal is projected to bring us a rematch of this year’s Wimbledon semifinal between Sabalenka and Ons Jabeur.

In the US Open semifinal, Sabalenka’s projected opponents are No 3 seed Jessica Pegula and fourth-seeded Elena Rybakina. The projected US Open final is between Sabalenka and top-seeded Swiatek.

Sabalenka fell just short of winning Cincinnati leading up to the US Open

Sabalenka kicked off her North American hard court swing in Montreal, where she suffered a surprise round-of-16 loss to Liudmila Samsonova.
