Simona Halep will be able to return to play immediately: the CAS has reduced the disqualification to 9 months. The CAS has in fact expressed its opinion on the case of the former WTA No.1, deciding to reduce the disqualification from 4 years to 9 months.
Considering that Simona was stopped in October 2022, she will be able to take her personal revenge by doing what she loves most and return to the court with immediate effect.

The facts date back to the US Open 2022, when the Romanian tested positive for one of the substances prohibited by the regulation: Roxadustat. The International Tennis Integrity Agency had announced that Halep would have to serve a four-year ban.
