The 14-year-old Hannah Klugman has made a name for herself at this week’s W100 event in Shrewsbury! The young Briton passed two qualifying rounds, entering the main draw and becoming the youngest qualifier at the W100 tournament, taking the record away from Coco Gauff.
The American made the main draw at the W100 Charleston event in 2019 at 15 years and one month. Klugman smashed that record, qualifying in Shrewsbury at 14 years and eight months! Hannah reached the US Open junior quarter-final last month, taking a break and demonstrating her A-game again at home in Shrewsbury.
Klugman kicked off the action against the 12th seed Aneta Laboutkova, beating the more experienced player 6-2, 6-1 in 57 minutes! A teenager served at 80%, dominating on serve and return and leaving the 23-year-old far behind.
The home star dropped nine points behind the initial shot, facing no break points and keeping the pressure on the other side.
