We are now four days into Milan Fashion Week, and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana’s schedule granted us the Gucci Spring 2025 showcase this afternoon. The collection marked the third mainline womenswear outing from Sabato De Sarno, having signed on the dotted line as Gucci creative director in 2023 (replacing Alessandro Michele). The guiding principle of De Sarno’s latest was “casual grandeur” which took shape via the Italian designer’s obsession with all-things tailoring, lingerie, leather, and the silhouettes of the 1960s. Tone-on-tone looks in Rosso Ancora , khaki, tangerine, neon yellow and chocolate brown ran through the collection, with the iconic the Bamboo 1947 handbag heralded as a statement for another season.
