Glow-ups in the Class of 2025 Recruit Ratings
Re-rating recruits is one of the most important facets of a recruit rating system, as it rewards young, developing gymnasts for the progress they make throughout their pre-college careers. Whether they add new skills, finesse their form, or demonstrate newfound confidence, gymnasts are always trying to up their games for college coaches. With another level 10 season behind us, it’s time to take a look at recruits from the class of 2025 who made some significant gains over the past year.
Sophie Schriever
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
College commitment: Washington
Improvement: 48 to 74
Reason for improvement: Schriever showed a great deal of improvement on all four events, but what really boosted her to four stars were vault and beam. While she competed the same full-on pike vault as last season, Schriever really dialed in on the landings—and her scores are proof of that. She scored as high as a perfect 10 in 2024 and never went below 9.625. As for beam, consistency has been a huge factor in her glow-up. In 2023, Schriever scored in the 7s and 8s multiple times. The event even prevented her from qualifying to level 10 nationals. But in 2024, every score was above a 9.000.
Where she can get even better: Just like she improved…
