The world of fashion continues to evolve, with the game of musical chairs between designers and fashion houses proving to be somewhat of an unstoppable force. Today, Glenn Martens is announced as Maison Margiela creative director. Martens succeeds John Galliano as the creative force behind the Paris-based fashion house, who departed ways with the brand in December. Glenn Martens is set to remain as Diesel creative director, with the move to Maison Margiela making complete sense. After all, Martens (a graduate from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts) already works for Margiela’s parent company, OTB (which also owns Diesel). No date has been set for Martens’ debut Maison Margiela collection. Stay tuned.
