The German Football Association (DFB) have extended the contract of women’s head coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg until after the 2025 European Championship.
The contract will see Voss-Tecklenburg, 55, and assistant coach Britta Carlson, 45, remain in their roles for this year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the 2024 Olympics in Paris and the 2025 Euros.
“I am happy to continue my work with a great coaching team, the team and the team behind the team and I thank the DFB for its trust,” Voss-Tecklenburg said on Monday.
“We have a lot of plans this year with the World Cup on the other side of the world. After last year’s European Championship, I am convinced that our mission is not over yet.
“We will continue to work hard to further strengthen the skills of each player individually as well as the entire team in order to achieve the greatest possible success at the upcoming tournaments.”
Voss-Tecklenburg has coached the German team since November 2018 and last year oversaw their run to the final of the Euros, where they lost 2-1 to hosts England. She was a four-time winner of the tournament as a player with Germany in the 1980s and 1990s.
