Justin Bieber asked Genie Bouchard out on a date after a charity match they played back in 2015, but the Canadian tennis star, at the height of her popularity at the time, said ‘no’ to her long-time celebrity crush as she had a boyfriend.
In March 2015, Bouchard teamed up with Bieber to play Will Ferrell’s 11th annual Desert Smash in La Quinta, California, an event raising money for the Cancer for College charity. The Canadians squared off in a doubles match against Kevin Hart and Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, with Ferrell serving as the match’s umpire. After the game, Bieber asked Bouchard to spend some time together, but the 2014 Wimbledon finalist had her heart elsewhere, as she was dating former ice hockey player Jordan Caron at the time.
In a recent interview on Family Feud Canada, when asked if she could have been Mrs. Bieber, Genie recalled the cherished memory:
We played a tennis match for charity, and he asked me to hang out later, but I had a boyfriend, so I said ‘no’. I believe I deserve the Girlfriend of the Century Award!
