Gastao Elias rips ATP over ‘inhumane’ ball conditions

Gastao Elias, 32, absolutely unloaded on the new type of balls used on the Tour as the Portuguese is “demanding” the ATP Tour to pay for the physiotherapy treatment he claims he will need. Since the start of the Asian swing, players have been very openly voicing their frustration and displeasure with the constant ball changes on the ATP and WTA Tour.

On Monday, Elias suffered a 1-6 4-6 loss to Marco Trungelliti in the Buenos Aires Challenger qualifying final round. “I demand @atptour to pay for all the physiotherapy I will need after playing with these balls they are making us play with.

I’ve been on tour for many years and I’ve never seen anything like this. THIS IS INHUMANE!” Elias wrote on X after the loss.
