Garbine Muguruza will take several months off to enjoy her private life and will miss all the upcoming tournaments on clay and grass, including Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
The two-time Grand Slam champion Muguruza has already been away from competition for two months. In her latest Instagram story, the Spaniard has announced that she will miss the clay and grass seasons.
The 29-year-old Muguruza wrote on social media:
Spending time with family and friends and it’s really been healthy and amazing, so I’m going to lengthen this period till summer. Therefore, I’m going to miss clay and grass season.
The former world No.1, whose current singles ranking is No.132, played her last match at the January 30 – February 5 WTA 250 event in Lyon, where she lost in the first round to qualifier Linda Noskova. She also suffered first-round exits at all her previous tournaments in 2023 — the Australian Open and Adelaide International 1 and 2.
As we can see on Instagram, Muguruza enjoys time with her boyfriend Arthur Borges. A couple of days ago they visited a Rolex store in Geneva, Switzerland together.
