Three-time All-ACC guard Ta’Niya Latson is entering the transfer portal, according to multiple reports Thursday.
Latson was the nation’s leading scorer this past season, averaging 25.2 points per game for the Seminoles. Despite her scoring punch, FSU lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to LSU last week. Her representatives told ESPN that Latson is keeping all of her options open, including potentially returning to Florida State.
The 5-foot-8 Latson has been the centerpiece of the Seminoles for each of the past three seasons. As a freshman, she led the ACC in scoring, with 21.3 points per game, and she has remained a prolific offensive creator in the two years since. Florida State, however, has still not advanced out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament since 2017. In addition to Latson entering the portal, the team will look different next season with senior forward Makayla Timpson moving on.
Latson is expected to be a player of significant interest for programs around the country, given her proven scoring ability. She is also expected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, with general managers around the league seeing her as a dynamic guard capable of providing her team with an advantage on any possession down the floor.
