Canada accounted for three seeded players across the men’s and women’s singles draws at the French Open 2023, with Felix Auger Aliassime in the top 10 for a second successive tournament.
Five players from the country entered the main draw, with Bianca Andreescu providing an early surprise when she knocked out a seed in the first round.
Leylah Fernandez, the 20-year-old former US Open finalist, was also bidding to go better than her run to the last eight in 2022.

Felix Auger Aliassime
World number 10 Auger Aliassime arrived aiming to build on his best ever run in Paris when he reached the quarterfinals in 2022.
He was hindered, however, by a hamstring issue and stomach virus that caused him to call for a doctor midway through his first-round match – not to mention the 30 winners hit by Fabio Fognini in a straight-sets win for the man ranked 120 places below Auger Aliassime.
