Former Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban flexes on Tigers during speech on campus ahead of LSU-Alabama

Nick Saban is a savage. During a speech to LSU’s women’s basketball team, the all-time great Crimson Tide head football coach told them that he’ll always cheer for the Tigers – unless they’re playing Alabama.

“I appreciate having the opportunity, and I’m going to watch how you guys do,” Saban in a video shared by the team on November 8 (h/t Bama247). “Because I still root for LSU, all the time. Except when they play Alabama.”

Saban marched into Baton Rouge and got LSU athletics to honor his championship contributions in a message in which he got to be true about who he’s cheering for.

Power move.

Saban is still on the University of Alabama’s payroll in an advisory role. He is contractually obligated to say that. But LSU women’s basketball isn’t contractually obligated to share Crimson Tide propaganda.

Did Kim Mulkey know in advance? Is she not a fan of Brian Kelly’s football team? There are more questions than answers now.

In all likelihood, Saban was just joking and didn’t think this much about it. Questions are natural to come to mind after a story like this, though.
