Women’s sports has had a dominant year across the board, and the reward has been substantial for its athletes, something that has just been confirmed by Forbes as the media publication has just revealed its highest-paid female athletes list, and for the first time ever, 11 women have surpassed $10 million in earnings, making this a historic landmark.
Tennis superstar Coco Gauff takes the number one spot with an estimated $34.4 million in earnings, beating out the likes of Naomi Osaka, Iga Swiatek and Serena Williams. Additionally, WNBA superstar and respective Rookie of the Year, Caitlin Clark, earned an estimated $8.1 million this year, matching the women’s basketball earnings record set last year by the now-retired Candace Parker.
Freestyle skier Eileen Gu, who has endorsement deals with Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and more, brought in $22 million for 2024.
LPGA Player of the Year, Nelly Korda, earned a little over $12 million, which nabbed her the eighth spot on this list. Olympic gold medalist, Simone Biles, also made the top ten with $11.2 million, of which only $0.2 million was made on the mat.
