Emma Hayes doesn’t have an off switch, and she seems to know it.

The U.S. women’s national team head coach clearly enjoyed her time speaking with media in Los Angeles over the weekend, ahead of the first of two friendlies the side will play against Brazil in this current international window. When a high school reporter asked her to expand on an earlier comment about how “once you become a coach, you never watch a game in the same way again,” she lit up like a tiger stalking its prey, wanting to go in for the kill but simultaneously retreating in order to not expose itself to greater danger.

“You haven’t got enough hours in the day for me to answer that question,” she smiled with a flinty intention as she slowly crept out of the scrum. “I would bore you senseless, but not now.”
