In this week’s women’s soccer news, the NWSL Boston expansion team got a new name; Denver NWSL announced plans to build temporary and permanent facilities; the UEFA Champions League semi-final matchups are set; and more!
High of the Week
This week, the new Boston NWSL team announced that it would change its name to Boston Legacy FC. Previously, it had announced that the team name would be Bos Nation FC, but that was met with a lot of backlash from the fan base. The first announcement really fell flat in all aspects, so it’s great to see the club take the feedback and make a change for the better.
Boston will begin playing in 2026, it’ll be the second time that Boston has an NWSL team as the Boston Breakers were in the league from 2013-17.
For the city.
For the future.
