High of the Weekend
The time is finally here! The World Cup starts this week, and it’s incredible how many NWSL players have been called up for their respective national teams! Sixteen different teams have NWSL representation–that’s half! Not only are we excited to see all our favorite NWSL stars on the world stage, but it just points to the quality and growth of the league to have so much talent in this World Cup.
Low of the Weekend
Christen Press is going through every athlete’s recovery nightmare. She just announced she’d be undergoing a fourth surgery on her knee. She tore her ACL last summer while playing for Angel City FC and has been going through a very, very long recovery process, made even longer by going through so many surgeries.
Press opened up on her Instagram about her emotions surrounding this news, especially how difficult it was to let go of her World Cup aspirations. Our thoughts…
